Since graduating from University College Cork (UCC) in 2009, I have had the privilege of working with children and adults in the following areas: • Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care for children with complex needs including autism and intellectual disability • Paediatric and Adult Physical Disability Services, working with individuals across different age groups with physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida and acquired brain injuries • A Special School for Children with moderate, severe, and profound intellectual disabilities, helping to create tailored communication strategies in the classroom • Paediatric Community Care Services, where I provided support for children from early intervention to school age presenting with speech and language delays and disorders Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to supporting children and adults to reach their full communication potential. I am passionate about empowering people with communication difficulties to express themselves, whether it’s through speech, language, or alternative means. I offer practical strategies and advice to parents which empower them to support their child’s communication development in the home. One of my key areas of interest is in supporting children to use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. I believe in providing children with the tools they need to communicate effectively and confidently, ensuring they feel heard and understood. If you would like to learn more about how I can support your child, please do not hesitate to get in touch about the services I provide. I am based in Shannonvale, Clonakilty, Co. Cork and provide clinic appointments and home visits.
