HomeSpeech TherapistsLindsay Staunton Lindsay Staunton Speech Therapist Title About my practice Visual Code Tender Roots provides an assessment, monitoring and consultation service for children age 0-3 years. The service is suitable to little ones presenting with communication, play and social needs or differences, particularly those where there may be a query regarding late talking, Selective Mutism, Autism or a social communication difference. Tender roots incorporates a nurturing, child led, gentle and positive approach. Assessments and sessions are respectful of the emotional needs and wellbeing of each individual little one, to ensure anxiety and stress is reduced. The service ethos is to support and empower parents and/ or carers to identify their child's profile, and together with the therapist determine which strategies and supports will suit their child's individual needs. A strong emphasis is placed on the parent/ carer and child's attachment. The assessment and review/ monitoring service will also allow the parents, carers and therapist as a team to determine if any further referrals or assessments are warranted. Lindsay Staunton is the Director/ Senior Therapist of Tender Roots. As a mother of 3, together with experience of prematurity and the paediatric medical system, she has a deep understanding of being a parent of a young child and also how stressful it can be to journey through an assessment & therapy process. Lindsay has over 20 years of professional experience working in different settings, mainly at a senior level- this includes acute, primary care/ child health and disability services. Her main area of expertise is with the early years under 4 caseload, where there is developmental difference due to autism or trauma. Please note Tender Roots is not in a position to offer services to families from the Carlow area at this time, due to HSE work commitments.
